Strives to Facilitate Equity

Why Sanjog Exists

Striving Image

Striving to find answers to global problems

Despite the significant work of several organisations globally to tackle problems of marginalised communities, many structural and systemic issues continue to remain unanswered. Most of these arise due to the very nature of the social sector and the organisations, and stay unaddressed, thus restricting impact. Against this backdrop, Sanjog has found meaning in the role of a facilitator and strives to find answers to several issues.

  • Dealing with inequities and redefining relationships between the dominant and the marginal – from exploitation of vulnerability for profit to empathy, compassion and oneness
  • Effectively and sustainably putting an end to organised exploitation of the vulnerable, such as human trafficking, in India and in other countries
  • Strengthening equity between social action organisations or NGOs, people and communities, and enabling a shift from the saviour-victim paradigm to that of partners and supporters
  • Pursuing innovative ways to help communities move from intergenerational poverty, towards security and affluence, assuming that the bedrock of their vulnerability lies in poverty
  • Strategising approaches that enable social action organisations in India to build collective impact projects that create impact locally as well as globally
